We are a generation born in war, raised in war, and about to win our war.
Episode 1- Born in War
Back in the 1980s, we experienced the longest classic war of the modern world: eight years of an imposed war by the Western-backed army of Saddam Hussein. The government was not completely established after the 1979 revolution. The elected president, Banisadr, became the biggest supporter of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (the Monafeghin cult), which became the most significant terrorist organization in Iran’s history, conducting 20,000 acts of terror against Iranian civilians. This cult was ironically supported and sheltered by Western nations as part of the Iranian diaspora, using the cover of exile to continue their campaign against their own people. Many officials, including the next president, the prime minister, the majority of the cabinet, and the Head of the Judiciary, were assassinated by this cult during the war. The Iranian Air Force reported to the Commander-in-Chief that they could only support operations for several weeks, as there was no maintenance, spare parts, or technical support left for the fighters and helicopters. Despite all of that, Iran withstood the attacks and did not let the invaders capture even an inch of the motherland. This is what we were born into. The stories told by parents, the classmates who lost their fathers, the relatives who were maimed or injured with chemical weapons during the Iraq war—all of these made us witnesses to the glorious defense and patriotic acts of our fathers, who won their war.
Episode 2- Raised in War
The war ended, and we were raised in a society where we faced economic and political crises every now and then. This was a multi-dimensional war with economic sanctions, cultural attacks through media, and political cases like Iran’s nuclear program—all for the same reason that started the Iraq war: to take over Iran! The Western media put all their efforts into raising us to believe we are the weakest country, incapable of doing anything unless relying on the West. They bombarded our generation with the premise that the Islamic Republic is the most brutal government in the world and cannot be trusted with any sort of high technology, especially nuclear enrichment. Frankly, they succeeded in propagating that belief among many people. However, there was one man who kept encouraging the next generation, opposing any sound of hopelessness or sense of defeat. While we were facing so-called crippling sanctions and economic crises, he claimed that we were close to the peak of success. That man was Ayatollah Khamenei, speaking to us who were about to face the greatest battle of our lives and preparing us, mentally and spiritually, to win our own war.
Episode 3- About to win our war
After the American-Israeli invasion on February 28th, our generation—born in war and raised in war—found ourselves in our own war. With a leader who was martyred at the age of 86 along with his family while reciting Quran at his office, we are in the midst of a battle for which we have been raised our entire lives. The leader is apparently gone, but he taught us everything we needed to know and equipped us with the tools for defending ourselves: the missiles, and the army. These nights, we see in the streets the fruits of Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s years of struggle. The children and teenagers who come to the streets alongside us, their parents, under the target of missile attacks, fearlessly shout “Allahu Akbar.” Many people look at the convoy of cars and gatherings with bewilderment and cannot understand how a disaster that huge can create such passion, authority, and courage. Apparently, there is no leadership involved, but it has been redistributed and scattered all over this land. This achievement is far higher and more sublime than hypersonic and cruise missiles. A leader who has raised this generation now beats in the chest of every single one of his supporters. He prepared them for this day: the day where we, born in war and raised in war, are about to win our war.
A Message to Western Governments:
To the governments of the West, who have for decades supported dictators, harbored terrorist cults, and imposed crippling sanctions while claiming to champion human rights: know this. You have raised us. Every missile you sent to Saddam, every platform you gave to the Iranian diaspora, every sanction you tightened to break our will—it all forged us into what we are today. You sought to raise a generation that would surrender. Instead, you have raised a generation that will never kneel. Your miscalculation is that weapons win wars. They do not. Will wins wars. And our will, born in the fires of the 1980s and steeled by decades of your hostility, is unbreakable. We are not your proxy battlefield. We are not your negotiating chip. We are a nation that has lost its leader and found him multiplied in the heart of every child shouting in the streets. So hear us clearly: this war you have waged on us for over forty years is about to end. And we are about to win.
