The great Arbaeen march is a truly divine phenomenon — beyond description, like many divine events that defy analysis. This multi-million crowd, coming from different parts of the world despite terrorist threats, is an extraordinary phenomenon that reflects the rising spirit of resistance
in the path of God and a widespread collective readiness (Speech by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, November 13, 2017).
Today, Arbaeen has become global and will become even more so. This is the blood of Hossein ibn Ali, still boiling after 1,400 years, becoming fresher and more alive day by day. This is the message of Ashura that has filled the world. Imam Hossein (peace be upon him) belongs to humanity; we Shia are proud to be his followers, but Imam Hossein does not belong only to us — all Islamic schools of thought stand under his banner. In this great march, even non-Muslims participate, and this path will continue. We must strive to make this
pilgrimage richer and more meaningful. Thinkers, cultural activists, and intellectuals must plan for this great movement. Today, the goal of every Muslim should be to build a new Islamic civilization. The Islamic nations possess great capacities; if these capacities are utilized and they align in their general orientations, the Islamic nation will reach the peak of honor and progress (Speech by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, September 18, 2019).
This is a great divine sign. In an era when the enemies of Islam fight the Islamic nation with all means, God suddenly manifests the Arbaeen march with such greatness. This is a sign of divine will to support the Islamic nation. Wherever such gatherings occurred, their reflection in the world brought honor to Islam; in Arbaeen, millions of people from Shia and Sunni stood together, and the world recognized it as the largest human gathering (Speech by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, January 9, 2015).
